That way you should be able to see the fish swimming around.

If you visit Sosua - pay attention to where you get off the shuttle.
It is very easy to get turned around when you head back
- and the streets are long.

There is a long street to walk down from the shuttle to the beach. Pay attention - it is easy to get lost on the way back!   You can visit the shops on the way to the beach   It felt a little strange seeing the chickens in the street

We visited Sosua primarily to go snorkelling on the reef.   We had brought our own masks & snorkels.   The Padi dive shop where we rented the fins was run by a friendly woman orignally from Germany. We did have to leave something for security so that she was sure we would bring back the fins - so Doug left his glasses.   When we were done, we were able to purchase an egg sandwich lunch from her.

We left our gear on a chair on the beach and headed out into the ocean.   The visibility wasn't what we had hoped for but that didn't stop us from having fun.   When we got back to the beach we discovered that our gear had been moved (because it had started to rain) and we were missing a bit of money that Doug had left rolled up into his hat brim. We snorkelled on a reef just off-shore at Sosua

Snorkelling at Sosua We should have gone scuba-diving here at Sosua instead The visibility underwater at Sosua wasn't good the day we went snorkelling Beth wasn't sure about the salt water at Sosua, but Doug had no problem

We won an all-inclusive trip to the Dominican Republic
